According to Hinduism, Tulsi (Basil) is a very auspicious plant. In India, you will find a well-tended Tulsi plant in the house of every Hindu. Tulsi is considered to be Goddess Lakshmi incarnate. In Hindu mythological tales, sun is regarded as Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi the grand consort of Lord Vishnu. Tulsi plant is not only just kept at homes, it forms an important part of most of the Hindu religious ceremonies. Tulsi is worshiped as Goddess (Tulsi Mata) itself. Not only in life and birth related ceremonies, this holy plant is also used in death ceremonies. According to Hinduism, Basil plant kept in balconies or yard at homes wards off evil spirits. It is said to be the bringer of abundance, happiness and divine energies into the home and its inhabitants. Although the placement of Tulsi in a house is famed to be an automatic vastu dosh remover, Vastu experts claim the contrary. As per Vastu Shastra everything living or non-living has an energetic composition that corresponds to the five elements of nature. That is why Tulsi also must be placed correctly or instead of correcting any vastu dosh, may promote it further.
